Teahouse in Stanley Park Wedding Photography – A Stunning Vancouver Wedding Venue

Capturing Kalinda & Chris’ Special Day in Vancouver

Looking back at one of my weddings from October 2021—a time when COVID-19 still influenced how we celebrated—I’m reminded of the privilege of being a wedding photographer in Vancouver. This job allows me to document love stories in remarkable locations, and Kalinda & Chris’ wedding was no exception.

Getting Ready: A Relaxed Start to the Day

The day began at the couple’s newly purchased townhouse in Vancouver. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed wedding morning. I started by photographing Chris and his father as they got ready, capturing the anticipation and excitement in the air. Then, I made my way to Kalinda’s condo, where she was getting ready with her parents. I always enjoy starting a wedding day like this—it allows me to document genuine moments in an unobtrusive way.

Often, I meet friends of the bride who recently got married, and they frequently share stories of photographers who overly directed their wedding day. My approach is different—I capture the day naturally, allowing emotions and moments to unfold without interference.

St. Augustine's Parish – A Beautiful Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place at St. Augustine's Parish, a breathtaking church in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood. The scale and grandeur of this century-old chapel were simply stunning, offering an unexpected surprise in terms of architecture and lighting.

When photographing a wedding ceremony, my goal is to balance storytelling and composition. While I focus on capturing intimate moments between the couple and their loved ones, I also step back to showcase the venue’s magnificent setting. The ceremony was filled with love, joy, and heartfelt moments, making it an absolute pleasure to photograph.

Wedding Portraits at Cecil Green Park House, UBC

Following the ceremony, we headed to Cecil Green Park House at UBC, a historic mansion with lush gardens and breathtaking ocean views. We spent two hours capturing natural, candid portraits of Kalinda & Chris, making the most of the golden-hour light. This location provided the perfect blend of elegance and romance, reflecting their love story beautifully.

Teahouse in Stanley Park – A Dream Wedding Reception Venue

After the portrait session, we moved to the Teahouse in Stanley Park for the reception, speeches, and dancing. Nestled within Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park, this venue is one of the city’s finest locations for an intimate and elegant wedding.

The Drawing Room at the Teahouse features hardwood floors, a charming fireplace, and large bay windows that offer breathtaking views of English Bay and the North Shore Mountains. The natural light streaming in created a magical ambiance, making it a dream location for wedding photography.

Kalinda and Chris wanted a relaxed and joyful wedding day, and they certainly achieved it. The combination of stunning venues, a well-planned itinerary, and their incredible energy resulted in a picture-perfect celebration. It was truly a pleasure to document their love story.
